01 / Arrival in India
A warm welcome. Time to settle in.
On arrival at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi, students meet the India programme team before travelling by private transfer to the host-school area in Panchkula.
Your first days
Check into the designated hotel, meet the programme team and take part in a welcome briefing and orientation. There is time to settle in and prepare for the school experience.
Staying in the Chandigarh area
Initial overnight accommodation is in Chandigarh, with the school programme based in Panchkula. Meals on arrival follow the programme arrangements.
02 / Five days of school integration
Experience life as an Indian student.
The heart of the trip is a Monday–Friday school integration experience. UK students become part of everyday school life, developing genuine friendships and a deeper understanding of one another’s worlds.

A buddy from day one
Each UK student is paired with an Indian student. Together, they attend lessons, explore the campus, share their school lives and cultures, and take part in collaborative activities.

Join regular lessons with Indian peers and discover different classroom practices, teaching approaches and perspectives on education.

From breakfast to shared discoveries.

Breakfast & welcome
Start the day with breakfast at school. A welcome assembly introduces the host school’s leadership, students and the week ahead.

Lessons with your buddy
Take part in classroom learning, get to know the campus and exchange ideas about life and education in the UK and India.

Lunch together
Enjoy meals alongside Indian students and experience the social side of school life.

Afternoon activities
Join co-curricular activities, sports and collaborative sessions: opportunities to learn, compete and have fun together.
Experience / After school
The learning continues.
Carefully selected cultural and community experiences introduce students to the local area. Activities may include historical monuments, local markets, nature trails, outdoor exploration and interactive experiences with local students and communities.
Friday / Closing ceremony
Celebrate the friendships.
Bring the week together with student reflections, cultural sharing, farewell activities, certificates and group photographs. Say goodbye to the host-school students and staff who have shared their everyday lives.
Overnight during the school programme: Panchkula.
03 / India discovery journey
From school life to iconic heritage.
After the school immersion, travel with the GSE programme team by private transportation, following a route through Amritsar, Agra and New Delhi.

Discover Amritsar through guided sightseeing and local experiences that introduce the city’s distinctive heritage.
Agra
A world-famous landmark
Explore Agra’s remarkable heritage, with opportunities to visit the Taj Mahal and other significant historical landmarks.
New Delhi
Historic India. Modern capital.
Possible experiences include India Gate, historic landmarks, local markets and cultural sightseeing, alongside the vibrant life of India’s capital.
The discovery journey includes: private transportation, accommodation, breakfast, lunch and dinner, guided sightseeing, cultural and heritage visits, and local experiences.
This is an indicative programme. The final day-by-day schedule and visits will be confirmed with participating schools.
04 / Homeward bound
Bring home more than memories.
Return to New Delhi for the transfer to Indira Gandhi International Airport and departure for the UK. Students come home with new friendships, new perspectives and a deeper understanding of India.
