Behind every GSE programme is a team working across countries and cultures. Our international team combines experience in education, safeguarding, programme delivery and partnership development with local knowledge in the regions where we work.

Tom Saunders

Tom Saunders

Managing Director & Designated Safeguarding Lead

Tom founded Opportunity China in 2011, building relationships between education partners in the UK and China that later contributed to the development of Global School Exchanges. His career spans international education, entrepreneurship and higher education, including previous work with Enactus UK. Today, Tom leads GSE’s strategic development and international partnerships alongside his role as Designated Safeguarding Lead.

Sophie Rosenberg

Sophie has been part of GSE since 2019, following earlier work on its international summer programmes. A University of Sheffield graduate who spent part of her studies in France, she is now based in Montpellier and leads GSE’s European partnerships and programme development.

Dr Kasturi Bose

Director, South Asia

Mumbai, India

Kasturi leads GSE’s work across South Asia from Mumbai, developing relationships with schools and education partners across the region. She holds a PhD in Social Entrepreneurship from the University of Southampton and brings an academic and international perspective to GSE’s partnership development.

Si Si Li

Director, China Programmes

Si Si leads GSE’s programmes and operations in China, overseeing educational visits for students, teachers and school leaders. Based in Beijing, she works closely with schools and partners to deliver high-quality programmes and build lasting international relationships.

Shi Shi Gu

Director, China Partnerships

Beijing, China

Shi Shi leads GSE’s partnership and client collaboration work in China. Based in Beijing, she develops relationships with schools and education partners, supports new partners joining the GSE network and works across teams to develop successful international programmes.

Cami Gui

Director of Operations

Hampshire, UK

Cami oversees GSE’s programme delivery and homestay operations. She has worked in international education since 2015 and brings extensive experience of delivering cross-cultural programmes and supporting schools, students, educators and host families.

Stephanie Day

Quality Assurance & Human Resources Director

Hampshire, UK

Stephanie has been involved in the organisation’s development since its early years, following previous work with Opportunity China. With experience across higher education and international education, she now leads GSE’s quality assurance and human resources, supporting the standards, people and processes behind its programmes.

Global School Exchanges has been supported by an Advisory Board since 2015.

Bringing together experience from education, higher education, leadership, business, finance, people development and innovation, the Board provides independent perspectives, challenges our thinking and contributes strategic insight as GSE continues to develop.

Professor Richard Blackwell

Advisory Board Chair

Richard brings 40 years of experience in education, including senior roles as a University Vice-Chancellor and Interim Principal, alongside work as a higher education consultant.

Louise Obi-Drake

Louise is a learning, development and leadership specialist, educator, award-winning social entrepreneur and Governor of a large UK Academy Trust.

Dr Eric Chan

Eric brings 30 years of international experience as an educator and management consultant, with expertise spanning education, management, leadership and organisational development.

Nicholas Elliott

Nicholas brings more than 15 years of financial services experience, contributing strategic business and commercial insight to GSE’s development and long-term planning.

Kim Wilcox

Kim brings more than 15 years of human resources management experience and contributes expertise in people strategy, organisational development and HR.

Dr Chunjia Han

Chunjia is a Senior Lecturer at Birkbeck, University of London, whose research and academic expertise contribute insight into innovation management and organisational development.
